This new development enables publishers using ScholarOne to offer real-time manuscript status notifications to authors via China’s number one messaging app WeChat, enhancing the global author experience throughout the submission process.
Gateway, Charlesworth's Communications Platform as a Service (CPaaS), has already transformed author-publisher interactions by delivering instant updates through popular APAC messaging apps like WeChat, LINE and WhatsApp. With this plugin, publishers can now extend these capabilities directly to journals using ScholarOne. This allows authors, particularly in high-growth regions like China, to receive push notifications on their manuscript progress without needing to log into their journal accounts. This integration supports two-way messaging, status checks, and personalised alerts, reducing communication barriers and improving the overall author experience.
